Plan for Safe Charging and Storage

Charge the station before severe weather arrives and keep its cables together. Store and charge lithium-ion equipment in a cool, dry place, follow the manufacturer’s charging instructions, and inspect the housing for cracking, bulging, or leaking. A device that becomes unusually hot while charging should be unplugged.

Match capacity to expected runtime, output to the largest connected load, and weight to the storage location. A tested, fully charged station with a realistic device list can provide more practical resilience than an oversized battery that remains unprepared.
